Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I move around the business at the moment, to understand and maintain the different roles within the business. But my main focus is around Mechanical designs with 3D models and drawings.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am loving every second of my programme, and with the moving around the business, the amount of new skills and new experiences keeps the feeling very fresh and thrilling

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learned many new skills whilst working at Babcock, such as Teamwork and communication skills, nut also around being brave in my role and not being scared to ask questions

How well organised/structured is your programme?

We have a dedicated team to ensure all programmes for apprentices and graduates are well functioning, structured well and organised. They do an amazing job at keeping it all running.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive lots of support from anyone I speak to, and I am regularly asked questions to help boost my knowledge. The environment at work helps foster communication and the feeling of no question is a silly question

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

If I ever feel unsure where my qualification will ultimately place, or I am struggling with a certain portion, I receive informative and helpful feedback

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification is the foundation for me to perform better in my role, and thanks to it, helps be gain new knowledge, as well as greater skills

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Throughout the year there are many social and networking events, which I always try to participate in. They are informative, but also help speak to new faces. We also have a football Friday, where a bunch of different members of Babcock come and play football together

Why?

My daily work life is exciting and thrilling, but mostly fulfilling, which is the best feeling to achieve whilst at work. Work interactions are always friendly and everyone is there to help and support my education and programme.
