Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I work in human factors, where I spend time planning and carrying out user trials to improve customer feedback.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy working at JLR. My team are quite young, so I don't feel out of place, and I find the work i do to be constantly changing and quite exciting.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Many skills. I have learnt lots of CAD, project management skills, and already increased my confidence by loads as well as placements such as clay modelling which was very fun.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Pretty well organised, apart from the system on which we have to submit all of our Off The Job hours was pretty messy and meant we lost a lot of work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my manager, and have regular check-ups
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
A fair amount, but lecturers sometimes don't reply, or help when asked.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
For me they overlap a bit, but not a lot. Within my role I don't do much maths, which is what a lot of the degree focuses on.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, I currently am part of the Warwick University football team, signed up to netball through a contact in JLR and there are lots of professional events to sign up to. I am also part of STEM ambassadors, meaning that I can go to schools to educate younger students.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend JLR to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I love working at JLR and it doesnt feel like too much to balance (something I worried about in the beginning). I enjoy uni and all the extra-curricular activities that I can be apart of. As well as this I love the accommodation i am in, with other JLR people.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JLR?
Get some good work experience, and research the business very well. I would recommend albany stundent village in terms of accommodation, for more of a uni feel.
