Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

During the morning I work delivery either ambient, chill or produce. The job is a fast pace working environment and then dealing with customers throughout the store times
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I do really enjoy the program I am offered plenty of opportunities to learn new things and the apprenticeship scheme really sets myself up for my future at aldi

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I’ve learned a lot of social skills dealing with customers and being empathetic with them. I have learned to solve problems better and have become more of a leader to my colleagues

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The course is well organised with plenty of academic work online and then given practical work throughout my shifts which is a good ballance
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have plenty of support from my learning coach and the staff around me to ensure I’m keeping on track and know what I should be doing
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We have monthly meeting to discuss my progress and what I should be getting on with and then the emails are always really responsive
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It helps me perform better because I am getting learning opportunities that no one else gets and it allows me to get hands on experience
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Since starting I couldn’t drive so to keep fit I biked to work in the mornings which really improved my physical and mental health. During work there aren’t many extra curricular activities to take part in

Why?
Because it is a great place to get hands on experience and to get a qualification in management will set me up for life regardless of my career choices
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
Do it! It may have its challenges but if you’re eager to learn and have a great work ethic you will do fine here
