Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
From the beginning of the apprenticeship you are given a number of responsibilities on a day-to-day basis. I am now in my final year of the apprenticeship in a role in electromagnetic test and certification. On a day-to-day basis i am investigating electromagnetic test strategies to support different aircraft programmes
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I greatly enjoy the apprenticeship programme i have been completed and have no doubt that this programme is one of the best engineering programme out there. Even if you may be unsure of what type of engineer you are, you can experience a vast amount of different engineering disciplines that will aid you in deciding your further career.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have developed a number of new skills in both conventional engineering aspects as well as management skills. I have also developed existing skills relating to communication, technical writing and personal development.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is adequately organised and structured, there is an outline of the scheme given to you but it also has room to allow for everyone's experience to be different and suited towards the type of engineer you are. The programme is constantly developing and therefore is only advancing in the organisational aspects.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
You receive a vast amount of support from the employer, both being the early careers workforce and the wider business in all aspects of work, wellbeing and health. There are a vast amount of support programmes available and all employees are supportive of peoples needs or situations.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I receive adequate support from the training provider, they are usually available for any questions or support needed when working towards my qualification. They will provide support both in-person or online to help you develop skills you may feel you are lacking or struggling with as well as general help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The qualification provided as a part of the apprenticeship programme helps to develop knowledge across different aspects of aerospace engineering that will help develop a number of skills that will aid you in performing better in the role. Due to the nature of the company, it us unlikely that the qualification will match specifically to what you are doing in your full time role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are a vast amount of extra-curricular activities to get involved in at work, whether they are physical activities such as sports teams, social event and multiple networking events. These are available to everyone, not just apprentices. There are specific apprentice social events and networking events as well as wider company activities for everyone to get involved.
