Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My responsibility in my current team is to take care of my daily critical tasks and some larger tasks. These include: Posting invoices from our suppliers and retailers, answering queries from our retailers, checking changes made to our retailer accounts, creating journals, uploading journals, and investigating aged amounts. I interact with my close team and wider teams within VWFS such as Fleet ad Rent-A-Car and other teams within finance. I have moved across a two teams now so have seen the processes from two sides. My roles with both teams have given me an insight of smaller parts or a much larger processes.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy where I work and the people I work with. The company offers so many benefits, including a great pension scheme. I have received much support in completing my qualification, from both my workplace and my training provider. I couldn't fault my experience as an apprentice. It definitely isn't easy, but the reward of seeing your studying pay off in your work is really great.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt a lot about office etiquette and my organisation skills. Now, in my position, it requires me to organise my workload independently, and ensure that my tasks are completed before deadlines. This is something I have struggled with before. I have also figured out revision style that works for me. Being the graduating year of 2020, I had never sat an exam before, this has allowed me to develop a method that works for me and has given me success in my exams.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
We had quite an unlucky run with changing of teachers, amongst other things, but the class stayed on track and the majority of us finished the programme early. I have a few resits to complete but the structure of my work aligning with my studies has worked really well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have received so much support from my employer. I got quite unlucky with my first exams and have had a few resits to complete. Not once have they made me feel like this is an issue, and have kept up to date with my progress and made adjustments to my work to alleviate some stress. This has allowed me to channel a lot more into my studies.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have received a lot of support and attention following a few failed exams. My college has stayed on with tutoring me through the exams, after a lot of my classmates have moved on, and have paid close attention to my progress. This has made such a difference in my understanding and overall enjoyment with my course.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I think my qualification allows me to understand a lot of the fundamental aspects of my job, in both teams I have been in, this has helped me understand the background to what I'm doing and why I'm doing it. I think without the fundamental knowledge of what I'm doing, I would definitely struggle with the 'Why?'
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
They hold Pilates at my office on a Thursday! They also have a sports committee where you can get tickets to sports events such as Ascot and MK Dons matches. There are loads of events that are held around the office where we can see what other teams are working on and meet people around the business.
