In my role I conduct market research about our commercial performance for the Commercial Development team

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was never given anything that was extremely important but I have been given tasks directly feed into BoM

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have learned hard skillsets e.g. Tableau, SAP BI, Excel, and PowerPoint. I have also learned soft skills such as knowing how a business works internally (forums, processes etc.) as well as knowing how to communicate findings to certain audiences.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I had a 4 week handover period which was very beneficial, and given very detailed support about how to perform my tasks. Beyond that I was given sufficient support by my team to know how to complete all the tasks I was given. I have also had the opportunities to develop skillsets on my own accord, and reach out to team members for more guidance.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I enjoyed it a lot. My team were perfect and I had many projects that I took pride in. Of course there have been some difficulties but I think that the flexibility of my role has allowed me to personalise it for myself, taking up new opportunities and workload that fits my interests/ambitions
