My job is cooking for the military on an army base. This involves cooking the food for the cookhouse, organising container meals and general kitchen tasks i.e cleaning, paperwork and stock up-keep.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my programme. It has also enabled me to experience different events such as cooking for a woman in power event on a ship for the navy, and a foraging trip to Exeter. I enjoy the social aspect, and I also enjoy producing good food.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have definitely learnt a lot of new skills in terms of cooking and kitchen operations. I have also learnt a lot about the military and the way they operate. It has developed my people skills further too. I have taken on more responsibilities too as time goes on.

The programme is well structured. I understand the criteria and what I have to work towards.

I receive a lot of support from my employer. I'm always checked up on to make sure I'm doing well in my course and to see where I am.

I receive lots of support from my training provider too. Always there to ask for help if need be, and makes sure that I know what I'm doing in my course.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification helps me to perform better as I have the knowledge that I need to carry out my role to the best of my ability.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Not so much at work however apprentices are offered lots of opportunities outside of work.
