Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Preparing the lunch and dinner menu for the officer mess including field, global and pasta/ curry
Ensuring all the paperwork is done
Putting away orders
Cleaning the kitchen
Creating menus for functions
Supporting the rest of my team
Teaching other apprentices who are starting out.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

It is really nice to go on different workshops that are run by high calibre people.
Meet many new people
Be given different opportunities to do competitions/training both in person and online.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

The team at hit are super friendly and always their if you need any help.
My tutor is very flexible as we have a busy schedule and can’t always meet every appointment, she is more than happy to make other arrangements for us
How much support do you receive from your employer?

They are very supportive always asking how I am getting on, checking if we need any particular help or guidance towards are apprentice.
Always given time to complete tasks when we need.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

They are always there if you need anything. The team get back to you very quickly. I have had no issues so far.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It will help me gain a better understanding of how to work towards a higher position in my job.
It will make me a more rounded individual and help the team and site perform better.
The more knowledgeable I gain the better i can perform my job.

Working in other areas sometimes can gain you knowledge of how other areas work.
But not many extra curricular activities to my knowledge.
