Head of Operations, I play a crucial role in overseeing and managing daily functions, ensuring smooth delivery of services, and maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Day-to-day duties consist of client & event coordination, quality control & standards compliance, staff management, strategic & operations planning, budgeting and health & safety management.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The Programme has been extremely enjoyable, which has been aided by the variety of venues around the country that I have been given exposure too and the knowledge/experience that i have been able to access during my apprenticeship.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, the course has been crucial in developing my understanding of how other individuals way of working may vary and how best to effectively communicate and work with individuals of varying levels.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The entire programme is very organised and a clear oversight/structure was shared prior to the apprenticeship starting which also included workshop dates which aided the ability to plan ahead of time to ensure that essential days were not missed.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have the full support from my employer which includes time within working hours to complete the various duties of the course, travel and accommodation expenses which is extremely useful in ensuring there is no financial burden felt.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training provider is very supportive by having regular catch ups with my module tutor and regular communication with the workshop delivery team to ensure information is always at hand.
The tutor is also extremely supporting in relation to ensuring i am maximising my potential by critiquing were needed.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

With each module that is covered, the more i feel in control of each aspect due to the confidence the apprenticeship gives you through providing insight and knowledge that i had previously not been aware of.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

The course started with a team dinner for everyone on the course to be able to networking prior to the course commencing. During the time of the apprenticeship there are various social activities that we have access to which are fully provided for.

Why?
Having worked for Compass Group for 16 years and I can honestly say that the opportunities that Compass can offer are second to none. There are variety of opportunities and the national events that you are able to be apart by far go beyond anything you could dream of.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Compass group?
Don't be afraid to think big, you will be supported and the opportunity will be there.
