Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a daily basis I assist during the shift. I put the on sale dates for all items on each new product, log failed/late deliveries, receivings, accuracy checks, logging leftovers/short cases, checking the intake sheets, sorting out uniform for employees.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I think the programme has been very helpful in improving my skills and making sure I get the experience required, and my coaches are with me every step of the way for support.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

My confidence has improved, I am better when using the computer and excel, my communication skills have improved, I have improved when writing emails and I am calmer under pressure.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is very well organised. I have a meeting every month with my coach and a teams workshop and every assignment is broken down month by month so I can prioritise my work. This makes it easier to understand too as it is more bitesize.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from my employer. He gives me the time that I need to learn, helps me to adjust my schedule so that I can attend the meetings and workshops and he encourages me to go for opportunities that can help expand my knowledge such as store visits and experience on other departments.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a lot of support from my training providing. I have regular meetings with my coach and I can email her whenever I need to ask for help or advise.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It has improved my confidence a lot and changed the way I act and speak to people at work, making sure I am more professional and inclusive of everyone. I am more aware of unconscious biases and I actively try to better myself everyday.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

My team play football every Monday after work and we meet up every now and then for a work night out that includes activities like bowling. We also have multiple activities throughout the year like the pick, pie and a pint. That involves litter picking and then going for a pie and a drink.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aldi?
Making mistakes is natural and a part of life, but your attitude and the way you react to those mistakes are what really makes a difference. Be respectful of others and you will be respected in return and being a nice person makes people consider you for opportunities.
