Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
It involves taking care of any excesses in the mornings, if a customers account has gone overdrawn, it involves contacting them and getting confirmation of funds. It includes putting on work items and service request for a variety of different customer queries. It also includes going on customer meetings.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am really enjoying learning new things not just about banking and relationship management but more about how the world works. I enjoy learning from my team who have been really helpful and have made it so easy to learn new things.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes, I have developed my English speaking and writing in a professional business setting. I have also developed my knowledge on how banks work and operate, and how they support the economy.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I would say it is well organised, there was a session that had to be rescheduled twice and then just ended up being cancelled and left us to watch the recording of it, so I am not sure what happened with that however apart from that I think having a set time table and knowing when deadline are right from the start has been helpful.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I would say in my team I receive a l to of support from my manager and also from other team members. I have gotten to talk to and spend time with previous apprentices and have been out in contact with them from the start which was really great as I know if I have any issues i can go to them too. I have also had the chance to have previous apprentices teach and explain to me certain protocols which was a great insight.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I think it adequate amount, I have always had emails come back pretty quick if I sent in a query.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I think it helps because it explains a lot of the things that we are doing in our job role therefore making it easier to understand not just the how to do things but also the why we do things the way we do.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Yes, though I think there have been less opportunities in Stoke on Trent as a lot of the in person activities are in the bigger places like Manchester and London which we cannot get to.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend NatWest Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend them as they have been providing great support and as far as other apprenticeships go, the compensation is on the top end which can be helpful especially if you do not live at home anymore. I have had great help from everyone in the bank too, and most people I have spoken to have been with the bank for a number of years which shows that there are opportunities to grow here and that employees do not want to leave as the yare happy with the work place.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
Prepare well for the interview, but do not try to be what you think they want to see, be yourself, if the role is right for you you will get the opportunity.
