Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role is learning on the job , hands on and being involved in big breakdowns. I’m training to be a maintenance technician on the cranes in the press shop. I love
My apprenticeship so far and I am throughly enjoying it and the skills and knowledge I have gained so far is just amazing! I am very passionate about my role and can’t wait for the future for me here at JLR! I want to thank all the support I have received from my maintenance team who have been training me and also the early careers team who have supported me! I am proud to be apart of this organisation and can’t wait to see what the future holds for me
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my programme! I don’t regret the decision I made joining JLR as an apprentice. I have enjoyed the onsite work at Halewood and the hands on skills! I have adapted to different working environments and can say that is a place where I know I belong!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt loads of new skills , being on the cranes fault finding doing rope changes, working electrically and mechanically ! I have also done many presentations in front of an audience and networked with so many people here! It’s been a fantastic experience! I am a stem ambassador now so I go and support schools in the north west as well as progressing through my apprenticeship so I have certainly gained a lot of confidence and can certainly say I am a proud of the person I have become

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme itself is organised and I am happy with my programme so far!
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive so much support from my press maintenance team who train me ,supervisor , maintenance leader and also other colleagues I have networked across site who congratulate me on my achievements so far! I also get a lot of support from my early careers team who support me when I need them , so I am extremely grateful
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I don’t currently go to my training provider now as I’m onsite full time but from my past experience yes I have had support from training provider
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualifications have not helped me through my role I think the lads onsite have really opened our knowledge and understanding on the equipment we are dealing with. But I would say the level 2 NVQ had a massive impact on the hands on development!
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I am an early careers ambassador, stem ambassador , I support international women’s day, I support and present to the new apprentices starting on site and welcome them into the business . The list goes on but I love doing extra curriculum as it allows me to network and to make a change to a young persons life!
