Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am re modelling panels in CAD for a new car and have the responsibility of them to ensure they are correct.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am really enjoying my programme.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt so much in my short time here so far, I didn't know much about engineering and cars before starting at JLR and I can already have professional discussions on panel design choices.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is very well structured and I have a clear vision on what is happening in the future to know what to aim for.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My manager is very supportive and I have a lot of support from the lead engineers and other colleagues.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
Support is there but the feedback is weak and it has ended up being a very independent activity.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
So far, I haven't been able to utilise the knowledge from my qualification in my role, everything I learn that is currently useful is from in house trainings and from talking to the engineers around me.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are loads of different activities and groups to get involved in- there is a society for pretty much everything and there are always events going on to show case this

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend JLR to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It has been an incredible experience so far and I am getting a degree whilst working and they are really supportive in the time they give us to be able to complete our university work along side our work. Fantastic company.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JLR?
Be yourself, they aren't looking for someone who knows it all, they want someone who is willing to learn and is committed to the work. And, make sure your heart is in the job because it is hard to juggle the university and work but JLR are brilliant and will give you the time you need.
