Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role involves creating Tableau dashboards of department KPIs and maintaining data pipelines from our cloud sources. I ensure data for the dashboards are to requirement by cleaning and processing the data using Python.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
Originally, I wasn't happy with my role and work day-to-day, but I resolved this after speaking to my line manager. Currently, I'm a lot happier with what I do, but I'd like to have more variety in what I do and look at using more advanced technologies.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I've learnt a lot from using Tableau daily at work and my existing Python skills has improved mostly from university projects. Both work and university has helped to develop my soft skills such as problem solving and collaboration.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
University have a good structure, generally is quite organised. Regular, dedicated meetings to track progress and help with hitting apprenticeship KSBs from work and uni. Website being used to track OTJ and reflections seems to have technical blips putting through hours and not the easiest to navigate.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Line manager and team very supportive and happy to help. Early careers team have regular meetings to ensure you're on track and always open to listen to any issues and offer advice.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Lecturers generally quite responsive, however their answers/advice aren't always that helpful. Dedicated tutor from uni has regular meetings to ensure you're on track and offer support and advice, again not always that helpful.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Not that far into course yet, but so far only a couple modules at most are potentially directly linked to my work. Had Python experience beforehand, so as programming module starts from scratch, it hasn't really had much of an impact on my coding ability. Some of the modules are too broad to be able to use and apply to my work or are unrelated to my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Plenty of networks to get involved in and new events and activities are constantly being posted on Viva Engage.
