Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I undertake sourcing projects in the retail team at JLR that are paramount to the successful rebranding of our retail stores. I oversee a full costing book that all members of our team input into to ensure we are in budget.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy my programme to a high extent, the culture within JLR is very good. People are friendly, motivated and helpful which makes it very enjoyable day to day. I also have the opportunity to work in many different teams so I am always learning.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Definitely,
- negotiation skills
- team working skills
- fast pace working skills
- time management skills

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is well structured. I have a uni day every week where I can solely focus on my studies and often take part in placements into other teams during my course so I always have important projects that relate to my university course.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a vast amount of support from my employer. We have a competitive salary, but are also offered hybrid working. This means that we aren't travelling every day and are trusted to work effectively and productively at home.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
We receive a lot of support. We have quarterly meetings with a university representative to ensure we are on track with university and have lectures weekly. Along with this, we often spend days on university campus to get face to face learning where we can discuss any issues.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
To a relatively high extent, my job role is more procurement based but all supply chain learning we are doing will all corelate to our job roles once we finish our degree.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Definitely, we have an early careers team dedicated to things such as socials, it is a great way to network and have fun.
