Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My home team is vehicle packaging - Off-Cycle, but I am currently on placement doing Vehicle packaging - On-Cycle, working on actual vehicle programme and getting to experience working on the actual vehicles we make
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoy my programme but would like a bit more freedom within my team in choosing my own placements and optional modules at university, as my manager chooses them for me which does not really give me the chance to do exclusively what I want, however this is probably more a problem wit my home team and not the overall programme as choosing your own stuff is whats usually done.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt a huge amount of new skills in my time here, and am still learning new skills every day

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
it is well structured and there is always someone who will try to answer and questions or solve and problems you may have
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer as everyone is very approachable and happy to answer questions
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
A decent amount but some lecturers do not seem interested in going an extra mile to help answer questions or provide the best support
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Some modules feel a it unnecessary but that may be me just not experiencing them in my working environment yet, but a lot of it is relevant and does help me perform better.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
I do participate in extra-curricular activities, but not to do with University or work. I would like to be involved in university societies or clubs but do not have time to train or play games etc on top of work

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend JLR to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a great opportunity to get experience at a large company on top of receiving a degree. You learn new things on the daily and it provides you with a very good baseline of knowledge to exceed in your career
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JLR?
Research the way the company works (agile). Familiarise yourself with its core values and creators code and do not fret from asking questions or getting help from anyone you can
