Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work on a variety of automotive products, Reviewing how these products preform on a number of measures and then finding ways to improve these products to reduce cost and weight as well as improve customers experience.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I thoroughly enjoy working at JLR, I feel stretched but the workload is still manageable to a point where I feel as if I'm learning so much. I've started taking on some more meaningful projects and feel as if I'm starting to help my team.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt a lot already in my 6 Months at JLR, I have learnt about many types of processes and used to manufactures our products as well as visiting multiple manufacturing facilities. My role constantly pushes me to learn new things and step outside my comfort zone.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I have a good structures, We were given a timetable at the start of the year detailing where we should be each day. Our education provided has been less organised, having experienced some teething issues at the start.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

There is a great EC team here at JLR who are very welcoming and happy to lend a hand. My team also are always happy to have any work or answer any queries I have.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Overall university have been really good at supporting, There are obviously discrepancies between different lecturers with some being better than others, but overall good.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Some modules are most useful to my work than others, currently many are laying the foundations for more advanced and useful modules later in the degree.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, I've played football, attended socials and gone on trips with early carers at JLR
