Involves checking financial reports to ensure work from previous days is shown. Also Finance business partner along side engineers working on the engine/battery to influence the end outcome and drive the cost to the best possible outcome to minimise spend and get value for money.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the work aspect of my programme and find it engaging and challenging and have a great team to support me. However I do not really enjoy the education and find it very boring and not very hard, However the support around the education from the company has been great.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have greatly improved my people skills as well as improved my excel skills to get up to a suitable standard. I have also improved my knowledge of how internal reporting systems operate and the code behind them. I have also developed my time management skills balancing work with my study.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

It seems to be organised now. However at the start we were switching education providers and that was a disaster we were delayed massively and that added a lot of stress to me. I also found that it was very last minute when we were starting but now it is up and running it seems to be very organised.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

The support I receive from my employer is amazing. I find they put on loads of training sessions as well as have close relationships with managers who look out for us and want to see us do well in our exams. I also think my manager has been super in training me and making me feel welcome.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I feel the support from the training provider is minimal. I think the website to access study materials is poor and very hard to use. I also do not like the fact that there is limited revision questions to attempt and I felt that after class I have had to do most of the work myself with limited help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I can see how the qualification can help people in a more typical finance role. But my role is more influencing outcomes rather than the financials so it isn't all so relevant. But there are elements of the course that have been useful to me. But when I move into a new role I can see it being very useful.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes there are plenty of extra curricular activities to get involved with at work. They have many different societies to get involved with.

Would you recommend JLR to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I feel it is a very modern work environment with good flexibility and trust. I also believe the opportunities for growth here are absolutely best in class
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JLR?
Get involved with the networks and put yourself out there. Everyone I have met has been very nice and friendly towards me.
