Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Setting up a filter weighing robot, processing bag reports, refilling the machine with new filters. Setting up of the robot driver and helping to rig the cars up to the dyno, weighing them beforehand.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy it a lot, learning new things and interacting with people, all of whom want to help.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
My computer skills have improved as a lot of the work is computerised, I have also learnt more about cars and why they need to be tested. I have learnt how to use laithes and milling machines which are very useful.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
There was a bit of a mix-up with which team I was meant to be in so this resulted in a slow start. The college days could be shorter, but other than that a overall well structured programme.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Tons of support, not met one person that doesn't help me when they can.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
We receive lectures which are useful, however sometimes the tutors are reluctant to do examples as this will be classed as coaching, but I feel as though the example would help me to understand what I am actually doing.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
We have completed two full topics, one of which was not relevant to my specific job role but the Quality was as I understand what the managers are on about. Halfway through electrical, I think it is useful.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, however I don't have much time to join them as I am doing assignments and have a home life.

Yes
Why?
Very well looked after, everyone is supportive and encouraging, good money and is very friendly. The work is eased upon you so you are not expected to know anything to start with.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JLR?
Get the application in as early as possible, don't lie to impress people, be yourself in interviews but work hard so that you achieve the right grades.
