Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
On a day-to-day basis my work generally involves managing the client mailbox and ensuring the communications with stakeholders are all up to date, calculating various member benefits and answering member benefit enquiries. Additionally, communications with members over the phone can occur so there are various communication methods used daily.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have found the apprenticeship a great opportunity to work alongside very experienced members of staff that have taken the time to ensure that I understand the work that I am doing on a technical level.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Although I had experience with administrative tasks previously, I was completely new to the pensions industry so all my knowledge of pensions has been developed throughout the course so far. I would also say I have built my confidence a lot when communicating with members, particularly on the phones.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The course is very structured and well planned out, particularly having interim reviews with the apprenticeship manager and team leader regularly booked in.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer has been very supportive of my ongoing progress and understanding the time that is required to keep the apprenticeship side of things ticking over. There is an ongoing learning log and regular assignments and if I need time to get things done my TL has moved my work around to accomodate.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Very quick response and structured learning which makes the work we need to do very clear.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel that the learning log, although time consuming, help consolidate what I have learnt.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Regular end of month socials and visits from members of other offices.
