Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I've a good mixture between carrying out different routines every so often and being able to develop my own solutions to make these routines faster and more efficient. I love being able to travel into the office (I work hybrid) and learn about new technologies from my senior colleagues.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I definitely enjoy the mixture of work and university. Work allows me to gain real industry experience, whilst Uni ensures that I still get a taste of standard academic life, which is really nice.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I've been able to develop my knowledge of various language very well, as well as learning a few new ones. I'm learning a lot about cloud technology due to my role, and I've been provided with support to get certification in essentially whatever relevant technology I want to focus on.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

As the programme has been in progress for years, we have a good, developed structure to the programme. Both on the university and work side, everybody has a general idea of what you are currently doing, but we also have dedicated staff to talk to if we have any specific issues.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

It's clear from the start that my company wants me to succeed, both in academia and work. I have routine reviews to go over my progress, and I'm allowed to help develop my own milestones and targets to work towards.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We are able to email our professors at university regarding any questions we have with lectures. Our virtual lectures are well developed, and our in person lectures are in good detail.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Learning the theoretical concepts of software engineering gives a very good background to the practical work I'm doing, and learning the core practises of programming is super applicable to most facets of my work, not just writing code in specific languages.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Our work is absolutely full of various social activities and groups to get involved in, as well as networking events. Even within our team, we schedule various fun activities to do outside of work.

Capgemini is very much a "people" focused organisation, and you genuinely get the feeling that they care about your progression and how you are coping with both your work and study.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?
Get some experience under your belt. It doesn't have to be formal work, just try and get involved in things. Volunteering is a great way to build up soft skills, especially if it's relevant to the work that you're applying for.
