Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am a business administrator. This means i:
- Answer calls from a switchboard
-Clean facilities such as kitchens, dishwasher etc
-Submit land registry
-Complete fees and create invoices
-Bank letters
-Disengagement letters/ engagement letters
-Dedicate parking in the basement
-Room bookings and configuring
My main interactions are internal with people in my office mainly using teams or face to face to interact. It usually involves room booking or basic it question such as how to set there laptop up to the TV using the poly so people form home can tune in to a meeting. The only external conversations I have are with people on the switchboard about an insolvency case or tax questions. The switchboard is used through teams.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I do enjoy my programme but I feel as though it is very time consuming and lengthy. I also feel like I am repeating myself a lot of the time with some of the questions they ask in one assignment being very similar to a question in the next assignment.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have developed better writing skills and I am much better with face to face communication. These skills are really important when talking with clients or colleagues. Projects such as presentation has helped me with my presenting skills as I had never had to present a PowerPoint before my apprenticeship with Babington.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I believe my programme is very structure as they always make sure that you are on track and hitting targets. I fell behind and my trainer was there to help me every step of the way to get back on track and not to struggle. She then started helping me fill in my matrix which saved me a lot of time that I now spend on my assignments. My trainer alos makes sure to have a call with me every month to keep organised.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive support meetings with my manager once a week to make sure that I stay on track and ask for help when i need it. We also use this time for him to proof read my work before sending anything off. My employer is the most helpful that he can be and will always find time to help if I am stuck.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Babington have been excellent in providing support but I did not always feel like I could day if I was struggling or finding the work hard until I recently fell behind. My trainer has really helped me since falling behind and has taken over my matrix to help me get back on track with my assignments.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I personally do not feel as though it helps me to perform better in my role. I do think some things have helped such as the call recently with Babington that taught us how to see things from different perspectives. Apart from this feel like I have learnt more from doing hands on tasks at my job than i have with this apprenticeship.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are golf, Squash and football extra curricular activities that are available to all. The social committee also do lots of activities and always make sure to notify the office watercooler to let everyone know. They are planning on doing a dinner soon at a restaurant named Middleton's.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Forvis Mazars to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Forvis Mazars is a place where you are able to be yourself and not hide behind a façade. It does not matter on your gender or your colour it, everyone is welcomed and treated equally. Since starting here in 2024 many people have offered to help me where they can and have been really supportive. My team are really friendly and I get on with everyone at my office.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Forvis Mazars?
A tip that I would give would be to research what the company and it's values and aims. I would also say to research who is CEO as well as the directors and so on. This will help to answer some questions that you may be asked in the interview.
