Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Forvis Mazars?
I've really enjoyed my experience at Forvis Mazars. I particularly liked how quickly we got first hand experience with clients and working on engagements. Learning by doing seems to be a lot of the approach (having had relevant training of course) but it's an approach that I think has really worked for me.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Being able to lead client communications and do most of the end to end process of an engagement has been very enjoyable for me.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
5/5
In my team, almost all projects will have multiple people working on them. This means that there is always an opportunity for catch ups, quick questions, and collaboration with the team.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
4/5
The perks and benefits at Forvis Mazars are very good. While the base salary is relatively low, this is standard for the industry and, seeing as I have not yet completed by ACA, I think this is also fair.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
Getting first hand experience with clients from the get-go has meant that I feel very much that this role is preparing me for my future career.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
5/5
Having come from a background of studying politics at University, moving into risk consulting has been a major shift. I feel that I have learned a huge amount over the past 8 months and both formal training and just 'doing my job' have both enabled me to learn an entirely new industry.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?
5/5
I have nothing poor to say here. Across all levels, the support structure is robust and clearly visible.
How is your work-life balance?
4/5
When exams are coming up, it is inevitable that days will be very long with a lot of revision after work. There's no way to do your ACA without that being the case. As such, I think it's only fair to answer this question assuming we are talking about non-exam times where I would argue the work-life balance is good. Work is often demanding but also rewarding and still with enough free time.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?
4/5
I can only speak for the Manchester office but there is a strong general atmosphere and culture with events put on by various societies regularly.
How would you rate Forvis Mazars initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?
4/5
Forvis Mazars prioritises this and ensures that it is implemented across business lines.
How would you rate Forvis Mazars CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?
4/5
While I have only been at Forvis Mazars for 8 months, I have already been on a CSR day and have observed many other teams doing the same. I think it is robust.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Forvis Mazars to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I think it is a great balance of demanding, rewarding work while also giving enough free time and company culture to have a good work-life balance.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?
5/5
As described and exactly what I was hoping it would be.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Forvis Mazars?
Don't feel that you need to have a degree relevant to the sector you're applying for.
