Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Take part in planning meetings, pick up development tasks and work with other developers to achieve our team's goals. Our team is allocated projects and we tend to develop on lots of different codebases.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes! I was treated exactly like any other member of the team and this allowed me to ramp up super quickly and get all the support I needed to work on bigger and bigger tasks as the placement went on.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I had a buddy when I arrived and weekly one to ones with my manager and the Early Careers team at the company. They were all super helpful and made me feel like I could ask any questions and come to them with whatever I needed.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
It's a good atmosphere, very little competition or hostility. It's very relaxed and every gets along well with lots of events now we're back in person. The office is cool with a games room and free drinks and snacks!

I enjoyed it very much! I learned so much and worked with the best people. It was tough at times but I'm so glad I did it.

What advice would you give to others applying to Expedia Group
The interview process wasn't super difficult but do some practice before hand! The behavioural interview and technical interviews are quite long but the interviewers are there to help you so be sure to ask questions if you need to.
