Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is to help support the room in setting activities for the children, being involved in the children’s play whilst learning to become a level 3 Practitioner this also includes safeguarding, policies, procedures and how we deal with everyday situations.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the program as it's a chance to develop new skills based around childcare and the meaning behind different processes and why they are important to help with a child's development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt how to create activities that help to further develop the children’s learning and skills and how this impacts their everyday life
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is pretty straightforward you get to experience the day to day routine in the room and do different opportunities with the children but you also get the chance to study and work towards your qualification and i think it’s a perfect balance especially if your new to childcare
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My Managers are always making sure i have all the resources and information i need when i’m doing some of my level 3 work and if i need help with anything they are always there to help me, they have given me time to learn and understand different things throughout the nursery and go at a pace that i’m comfortable with
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My tutor gives me regular feedback when I send my work to them and makes sure i’m understanding everything correctly but doesn’t put too much pressure or work on me, we have regular meetings to discuss where i’m at with my qualification and what my next steps are
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I think that my qualification is helping me with gathering information with what policies and procedures we have and why we have them but also how i can develop in the room with activities, routines and different jobs in the room
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We sometimes have staff meetings at different nurseries so that we can all get together and discuss whats going on at our nurseries and throughout the year there are different award ceremonies where all of the nurseries across the uk join together

Would you recommend Kids Planet Day Nurseries to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Kids planet is a very welcoming and supportive environment but it’s also a good learning opportunity and start to a long line of different careers as there is the chance to learn about different aspects of childcare and how children develop
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Kids Planet Day Nurseries?
My top three pieces of advice would be:
1. Being a passionate, out going and fun person is a big part of the role
2. Don’t worry if you don’t get all of the information straight away as there is a lot to take in
3. Once you get to know the routines it becomes a lot easier in any room
