Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Being a room leader can be difficult but to see the children’s achievements is amazing and rewarding. Teaching the children early education is so fun with all the fun activities we do and building connections with them and their families is so special.
Within my role, I have to support and guide all to help achieve their very best and allowing them to achieve their next steps.
I have completed many training courses to extent my knowledge and I’ve been able to support further too.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Completing my apprenticeship was challenging by I was able to complete all tasks with support of the tutors. When learning new skills and knowledge it really helped me complete my modules and I was able to use this knowledge in my work.
I enjoyed the team meeting where we were able to join together to discuss our ideas and strategies about the different models, though out the case study I also enjoyed being able to work alongside other professionals to collect information.

Yes I’ve learnt lots of new knowledge which I’ve been able to share with my other colleagues.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

At the beginning of the course, it was very structured and planned out and towards the end when it came to the End Point Assessment it took a little longer due to time and waiting for available dates.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

The management team were brilliant at helping and supporting my through my apprenticeship, they were able to guide and support me when needed.
The tutors from the training academy were the same and were easy to get in touch with.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Great support, I really liked the power points they put together to help and support us. I also really liked when they came out to support us or do teams meeting together with the other students.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Throughout the course it really helped me understand the importance of being a room leader and I was able to use some of the approaches which I’ve learned through the practise.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We do lots of social activities with others especially with our parents, we get them involved and do stay and play sessions to support and guide them.
We visit the local care home and do little activities with them too.

Having a qualifications will help you understand the importance of child care and it will give you a head start to understand the EYFS and safeguarding.
