Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am an apprentice at NatWest in the Real Estate Portfolio Management Housing Finance team, working towards my sernior financial customer service advisor qualification. My role involves supporting a portfolio of customers, specifically in the housing finance sector. I help manage their financial needs while maintaining confidentiality due to the private nature of our work.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the apprenticeship programme, my team have been incredibly warming and supportive ever since I started which has made my experience even better. I look forward to continuing to learn more and contributing to the team.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Since starting my apprenticeship, I have increased my confidence as I am now more comfortable presenting in meetings and speaking confidently within my team. Balancing my work responsibilities with my apprenticeship coursework has improved my ability to prioritise tasks and to stay organised.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is very well structured, I have a very good balance as I have one study day a week and I prioritise all my learning on that day. The support from the Early Talent Career Team has been really helpful, ensuring that I stay on track with my development.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from my employer, my line manager is very supportive and always makes time for me, the wider team is also approachable and willing to share their knowledge which has made the learning more enjoyable.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My BPP coach is very helpful and gives me when support when needed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Yes it does help as I have learnt more about the bank and increased my financial knowledge.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, we have apprentice events that I attend do, I think this is a great way to build my connections and meet the other apprentices it really has helped.
