Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role as an Early years apprentice is to take care of the children, ensure i am meeting their needs via sleep, food and learning. I prepare snack ,making sure all children’s allergies and dietary requirements are taken into account. I will get the children ready for sleep by making them a bottle of milk and putting them in a sleep suit, also playing white noise and rocking them to sleep/rubbing their stomachs. I also plan activities such as tuff trays and painting ensuring I take all development areas into account so they get the most out of the activity. Being an apprentice means I prepare my assignment notes and make sure I am fully prepared, I really enjoy working with Realise as they focus on professional discussions rather than typing up long assignments which really benefits my confidence and ability to speak about what I have learned. We have monthly discussions and they are also very easily contactable if you have any problems.

It is very organised, I knew the date and time for my assessments for the whole year within the first month of starting with the college. I can easily contact everyone I would need to, my tutor is very helpful and knowledgeable.

5/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer ,I can ask advice from my colleagues and manager. We have termly welfare checks where the manager goes through any questions and topics we may need to talk about. You can also ask for a chat with her at any point and she will be happy to talk and ask you how you would like her to go about fixing the problem which is very considerate.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a lot of support. They are always available to talk when needed ,over email or whatsapp. You also have monthly discussions on a zoom call when you can talk face to face then.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Very well, they cover all topics that I need to know and do it in sections so it sinks in. They also have many resources that you can use throughout the year no matter what you’re currently learning.
