Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My day-to-day work is very varied. At the moment, I am focused on social media but I also help with creating web pages for the website, SEO implementation and general ad-hoc.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy learning about marketing concepts and theories and how these are used at work. The people on my team are all lovely and give me support when needed. However, some of the stuff I have learnt about during lectures is quite basic.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt to use lots of new software such as Hootsuite, Adobe Production, BrandWatch and Eloqua. I have also developed my analytical skills and my ability to write social post copies.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I have lecture days twice a month as well as monthly check-ins with my skills coach.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

When I was onboarded, we had a week to learn about our courses as well as M&G itself. We were given sessions on different skills that may be needed at the workplace every week up to Christmas.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My skills coach is very helpful, he answers any questions I have about my work and I find the monthly check ins with him very helpful.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Some topics that I have covered in my qualification training have been very useful and relevant to my role. However, some of the things that I have learnt, although very very interesting, I am yet to use it in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

M&G has lots of networks which you can get involved with. My team is also starting a social committee so there will be more extra curricular activities to get involved with in the future.

The people are lovely and there are lots of opportunities at the company to try new things and grow your career and learn new skills.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to M&G plc?
Be confident, be yourself and do a lot of research into the role and company. You should also focus on why you would be a good fit for the company not just why the company is a good fit for you.
