Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am a procurement professional undertaking tendering processes on behalf of the business. Previously my role also included project management, but now it is much more focussed on driving value for the goods and services the business purchases.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the programme, however the gaps between sessions are not ideal. Presently I have two back to back days of studying followed by a large larger then two back to back days of revision. This is not giving me a chance to take in all the information effectively
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed my procurement skills since starting the apprenticeship by focussing much more on the theory surrounding what I do. For example I have a greater understanding of the procurement cycle formally.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The course is very well organised, however as stated previously, having sessions two days in a row is not beneficial for my learning
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive enough support, however there could always be more. Presently I am having to work my apprenticeship around the job, I would prefer it if I did not have to move around my study days.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive good support from the training provider and their professionalism is highly beneficial.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I believe it will ground my experience in real knowledge and theory that will only benefit my role, as the company's version of procurement does not perfectly match the course.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are social activities within the department and then the wider business. These do not always suit me, however I join when I can. I feel there could be a formal support structure within the business for apprenticeships where people can talk about their time management or learnings.

They are a good employer and will definitely help you gain experience quickly
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lidl?
The application process is clear and direct, do not feel you have to look for hidden tasks. Visit the stores understand its place in the market and your experiences can easily match up with this knowledge.
