I assist the dentist for chair side assistance and carry out decontamination processes along with stock checks, and further training.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the course so far as I’m getting to learn lots of interesting things whilst putting this into practice at work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt about new advancing technologies such as CBCT and OPG scans, implant processes and the instruments used. I have also learnt basic life support skills when doing training.

Very good. With help from many sources such as the tutor, assessor, mentors, and additional support contacts if needed.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

Lots. They are always looking for ways to help me like talking with my assessor and finding resources for me as well as giving tips about practical learning.

Lots. My assessor is always keeping me updated and on track so I can achieve the best possible outcomes.

I have a better understanding about what and why I perform certain duties as part of my role. So I can make sure I am keeping the work place a safe, professional, and happy environment.

On occasion we will take part in social activities such as escape rooms as a work team to encourage our team building skills and bonding.
