Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Train to become a dental nurse at a dental practice with the support of Tempdent who ran the apprenticeship programme. I was taught to nurse chairside with clinicians as well as dental anatomy and decontamination and infection control.
Day to day i would set up surgery's and the decontamination room, nurse chairside with the clinicians for multiple patients which could range from check ups to implant surgery's, i would have to take notes, log x-rays, get required medications, ensure everything was out and ready for the dentist, then sterilise everything after use.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The programme was i think very good, it was helpful and taught me a lot about the dental field as well as real life experiences.

Without the training i would not be able to successfully work as a qualified dental nurse to the level I now can
