Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
As a UX designer, whilst working on a client project I gather user insights and client requirements which I analyse in order to create solutions and designs. On a day to day basis this involves a daily stand-up to consolidate the days tasks, a collab session with other designers, and a presentation to the client with solutions and designs. Clients can be companies from the Public or Private sector.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
The program is very enjoyable. As an employee you're given the same responsibilities as graduates, and you get to work on a large multicultural team. As a student, you work with people from lots of different companies which is great for networking.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I've learnt lots of new skills during my time as an apprentice. Some of them include:
- Content Writing
- Interface and Experience Design
- Stakeholder Management and Leadership
- Research Methods

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The program is structured to have 25% of your work time be spent on University work. This includes week long sprints in person at university, 3 times a term. You end up going to Manchester around 6 times a calendar year.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I've gotten a relatively good amount of support from my employer. They have been flexible when it comes to allowing study leave, and are very good at supplying me with training and mentoring opportunities.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Manchester University provides lots of support. The feedback from assignments is critical and informative and allows for improvement, and there are various workshops and support sessions for things like critical writing.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The UX degree is very good at helping me preform my role. All of the skills and theories I've learnt at University have been applied during my working day.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Capgemini has lots of extra-curricular activities such as socials and networking events. There have been large community networking events and activities as well, such as Hackathons.
