Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role is to investigate failing products and suggest ways to try to fix them. This involves reading test results, carrying out testing of your own, writing reports, gaining product knowledge and sometimes performing fixes yourself. It uses problem solving skills and requires conducting investigations in a systematic approach.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
as well as the work being rewarding there are always opportunities to get involved in projects and apprentice team building events.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
problem solving, report writing, reading circuit diagrams, networking with others, workload management in terms of priority lists,

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
As this is the first year of the apprenticeship being offered there were a few bumps in the road however they should be ironed out for the new starters.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Support is always given when asked for it. It comes down to being the best advocate for yourself and asking for help when help is needed rather than waiting for it to come to you.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Given a lot of space to manage your own workload, and support is given when needed. they are always on hand in the classroom or through email to answer questions
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
In college you are learning the theory and in work you put the theory into action.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
We have enrichment teams that are side projects that the apprentices take on. It's up to you how involved you get in them but benefit you when knowing who to go to. there are many activities that go on outside of work that are advertised on notice boards such as sports teams and socials.
