Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Day to day I do reporting for our People, HR and payroll products, tracking metrics such as MQLs, SQOs, won units etc and measure general media and web performance. I work mostly internally with our media teams, product marketing and web teams. I am responsible for Sage HR and payroll campaigns.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
I wouldn't say I enjoyed the programme. I felt on the apprenticeship/off the job side of things was a recap of what I did at school during A levels and there was a lack of communication between the provider and us as apprentices, with our managers having to step in and complain. However, the support from teams/managers at Sage has been great.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have definitely developed new skills such as media planning based on creative performance, as well as developing marketing and professional skills such as copy writing and time management skills (this is something I struggle with). I hope to continue to learn new skills such as event and webinar planning

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
Poorly. At the beginning of my apprenticeship there were delays in starting by 2 months, our initial teacher was a maternity leave cover who seemingly did not know the ins and outs of the content nor how the apprenticeship worked, and it was a struggle to get any information or reply to an email. However, once our trainer came back from maternity leave, the process was much better and got the support we needed as we were able to run mocks for our tests compared to being blind to the experience prior.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
Limited support from the early careers team within the organisation. I am currently trying to organise getting my level 6 degree and the team seem to be unable to read their emails, however, after getting my manager involved on teams it seems to be better.
My manager and my immediate team are very supportive
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
I don't think it was that groundbreaking to help me within my role. Though it is good to have background knowledge of the theory, I rarely think about it day to day. a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
No, the early careers team left us to get on with our roles and did not socialise us further. It is difficult to get to know other apprentices as there are so many departments within Sage
Within my team itself there is some social activities which is nice, but not with other apprentices

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Sage (UK) Ltd to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Sage is a great company to work for with lots of benefits, room for progression and lots of young people there - especially if you are an apprentice your team will have other young people there - it is a well known company so great to have on the CV a a
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Sage (UK) Ltd?
Be yourself and be confident, most of the people who got the jobs that I know definitely had a bit of friendly chat in their interviews and were just normal people a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a
