Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Running daily stand ups with a team to manage project progress.
Pre-implementation activities for my project before it goes live.
Resolving blockers and issues on the project.
Calls with the client to feedback on project progress.
Impacting new work coming into the contract.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
It’s very difficult to excel in a work environment and education at the same time. However, the community makes it slightly easier. Having contacts who can assist you regarding university and who also are in the same situation with work is very beneficial.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Learnt so much about project management, client management, and time management between my day to day work and my university degree.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It’s very well organised, have university webinars every other week per module and 2 on campus days per term, allows me to keep uni as separate from work as I would like.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Capgemini are very supportive, there is a massive community for apprentices and graduates. We have engagement days within the community where there is a networking lunch, and educational sessions from leaders within Capgemini.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
It depends on the skills coach in which you receive, some are motivated and happy to help, others are not as supportive. The support and documentation isn’t standardised which leads to some apprentices feeling like they will struggle passing their apprenticeship qualification.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
The modules are relevant to my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
They offer a wide variety of volunteering opportunities, one of which I am involved in is Lego League. Where I mentor in a local primary school to help develop the children’s STEM skills through Lego builds including motors. The children can code the motor to move, light up, etc.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Capgemini to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Because of the the opportunities… communities you can be a part of are endless and if that community doesn’t already exist then you are encouraged to create it. The people are what make Capgemini in my opinion.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?
Be yourself, express your personality because skills can taught.
