Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role is to support testing of devices to ensure certain criteria are met, and ensure that some functions work without issues - ensuring that devices are good for launch, or a software update isn't buggy. I also support on software projects, and provide data insights where needed.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I am enjoying my programme. I'm able to learn so much from the business and boost my own confidence while working here. I've settled in well and look forward to working on more exciting projects.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Samsung's training sessions have helped me build new skills such as negotiation and influencing. In my job role, I work on improving my communication and presentation skills

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
My programme is quite well organised. I know who to contact in the business if I have any issues, and I have regular check-ins with my manager.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I have felt supported since I've started at Samsung. I did not feel very confident starting at Samsung however I was supported throughout my onboarding journey, and now I feel much more confident.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
My training provider does offer a few options to get support if you need to. I haven't utilised this support however I do know that it can take a bit of chasing to get a response from them. Not all lecturers at this provider are willing to provide support, and not all of them teach their modules well.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Upon starting, only some parts of my qualification link with my role. However, this is set to change. The idea is once an apprentice becomes more settled into their job role, they'll move onto new projects where they can learn more and utilise new skills in the workplace. These new projects I'm set to work on will have more links with the content I learn as part of my qualification.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Samsung do run professional networking events, which is great. They also have some sports teams (e.g. Samsung cricket team) and networking groups to be part of.
