3.2/5 - Structure and Support

Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I do the run out of internals of the magnet, and fit internal diagnostics and complete electrical tests
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
The course days have been informative but are very basic as they are remote. It is clear that the trainer is just reading from slides and isn't an expert on the topic which I find difficult to stay engaged with.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I have learned about taking control of budgets and resources, and also contributing to the delivery of a project. I haven't put either of these into practice yet but the theory side has been informative

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
There is a clear structure set for what is expected of us and what we should expect in terms of timelines and when it gets to our end point assessment.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
We have each been given an internal mentor individually which is great as they are on hand when we need them. I usually get the time easily to be able to complete my 6 hours off the job.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
We are able to meet with our educator who I keep in touch with and have an hour long meeting with every couple of weeks, and she is always very responsive and helpful if I email her about anything around these meeting times
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
I haven't had the opportunity to put into practise any of the things that I have learned from my training provider yet so I don't feel it has made an impact on my current role at all.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There probably are but I choose to not get involved as I do not live local to my workplace so it is too much travel for me.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Siemens Healthineers to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I feel I am always appreciated and looked after at my job. We get great benefits and the work I do is interesting. I struggle with my mental health and have always had brilliant support from my manager in regards to this.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens Healthineers?
I would say that it is important to make a great first impression - you need to be polite and respectful and you will go far. It isn't so important to have a background in manufacturing before applying as you are shown everything you need to know.
