Seamless Product Development Intern Review

Assisting the team on the day to day development process through the seasons. Preparing samples for fit sessions and taking part in the fitting of the garments and making notes.
Organising samples and assisting other teams across the product function. Working with the Regional offices to follow up on sample status and requesting new samples.
Making comments on samples to send off to the Vendors.
Working on internal projects to improve fit, standards and products with team members.

Yes, you are a crucial part of the team. But obviously as an intern you are still learning, so at the beginning you aren't plunged in to the deep end, especially in a role that requires experience like this. But as you learn more and your confidence increases the more you are given and there are always jobs to be done which you can pick up, but one of the biggest things I learnt is how to manage my work load and know when to say no.

The amount that I've learnt can't fit in this box. I already had a good understanding of fabrics and product development/garment technology from university but seeing it in industry makes everything clearer. I have become much more proficient at Excel and the internal PLM system. My understanding of seamless technology has vastly improved. All with the support of an incredible team, who have also helped improved my professionalism and communication skills both written and verbal immensely

There was not a time where I didn't have any support. My line manager was always there and the rest of the team wouldn't hesitate to help, you just had to ask. Outside of the team there are intern training sessions from Linkedin training/ Presentation skills to money guidance and dealing with difficult people.

People make gymshark, it is a brilliant place to work. The intern culture is great as you are all like minded people and we spend time together outside of work. There is obviously a big gym community which is incredible if you are in to that, but as someone who doesn't take part in that as much you do feel almost on the outside.

During this year I found the job I want to do, I love Product Development. Within work it was my break from the outside world and I couldn't ask for a better year, its sad that there are changes happening currently which will dramatically change the business but selfishly I'm glad I was part of it this year.
