Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role involves managing the production of a series of exam papers, from beginning to end. This involves liaising with our Assessment Associates to ensure the quality of our content so that our learners achieve the best possible experience with us.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoyed the apprenticeship programme I was on for Improvement Practitioner. I learnt a lot and am hoping to apply the knowledge I gained in my role.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed skills in process and project management, which I have applied by identifying issues with our processes and putting this into a project management framework to ensure we achieve our goals.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme was very well organised, structured into learning sessions, presentations and support sessions for each area.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I received good support from my employer, Pearson plc. They are very supportive of someone wanting to complete an apprenticeship and balancing the time demands of such a busy and involved course with my day job.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I received good support from my training provider with one-to-one support sessions provided as I progressed to my EPA submission.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I believe the knowledge and experience I have gained will enable me to perform better in my role, as I am now better equipped with the techniques and methods that I need to improve processes and take a continuous improvement approach to my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes there are regular apprentice meet ups and networking events organised by the Institute of Apprenticeships where I get the opportunity to speak to others and share ideas among us.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Pearson to a friend?
Yes
Why?
There is a friendly and supportive atmosphere, staff have a mentor assigned to assist them. There is a positive culture of innovation and an encouragement of learning and development. I took the opportunity to upskill by an apprenticeship and there are also plenty of business-wide learning groups on offer.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pearson?
I would encourage others to apply to Pearson, it is a learning company and there will always be someone else who shares similar interests to you here.
