Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Field service engineer apprentice, assisting and learning from engineers while they work on medical imaging equipment (X-Ray, CT, MRI, etc). Each day I drive to a different hospital to work on a wide range of advanced equipment. I attend college 1 day a week to work towards my level 4 qualification.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I've really enjoyed my apprenticeship so far. The job is interesting and the days don't feel boring or repetitive.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

My engineering skills have developed greatly, and I have grown more confident working with tools.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The organisation of the programme has improved greatly while I've been here. The managers take on board any feedback we give and try to find solutions and ways to improve.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive lots of support from my employer. My manager and colleagues are always happy to help.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive plenty of support from my training provider, and they are fast and helpful with their feedback.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification has improved my critical thinking skills. The work often requires me to look out for health and safety information and perform risk assessments, which I have continued to do even when not required for the work.
