Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
This involves helping customers- helping them with their shopping, ideas and substitutes they might want for products they were looking for and helping with cosmetics! Doing tasks on the HHT which revolves around stock and benefiting the store, and putting stock out! Helping with social media posts to increase publicity for the store and doing the occasional piercing throughout the day!
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy my programme thoroughly, it has taught me so much within customer service as well as getting qualifications for my future with customer service! It helped me with working a full week and improving my communication habits with others! It teaches me how to be a team player and to have intense product knowledge for any customers who might need it!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Learning how to improve on customer service, learning new facts about different products and ingredients in them, learning about new pharmacy items and products, communication with people from all different cultures and backgrounds! This also includes following rules and working with others on a daily and long extent to make sure the store is running smoothly!

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is structured in a very organised fashion, I have 1 hour a week to do my online/written work for my apprenticeship! This involves describing and analysing different areas in store as well as learning about areas in store and each rule! This also includes scheduled visits with my assessor to make sure I am on the correct track and that I don’t need additional support as well as taking criticism for my work to make it the best it can be!
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer and my assessor provide an insane amount of support! They help me with any work I may struggle with and my employer helps me to learn and navigate each part in store with thorough detail! They make sure my work is thoroughly detailed whilst also making sure I understand details by myself, ensuring i’m fully trained and capable to do what I can by myself!
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My assessor/training provider helps me whenever necessary. If I feel I need help or don’t understand a certain topic I always go to her and she helps from afar! She comes into store to check on my progress and she always helps me to improve on my work in the best way possible!
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It helps me perform better by improving on my customer service skills and knowledge! Understanding the perfect way to help those who come into store with questions and products they have in mind, if not finding a substitute and the best possible products to replace if want they need isn’t in store, always putting the customers feelings as a number 1 priority!
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Extracurricular include doing an Avon makeup conference, learning about the new Avon makeup and skincare put in store and to help improve on my knowledge so when customers come in to see the new products, I can help customers to find what they want and understand the products! Also fundraising for Marie Curie in and outside of store, helping with charitable donations for the store and for the charity themselves! This also means doing piercing training for the store so I can help the team with piercings which is especially helpful in the summer, providing extra money for the store whilst also gaining piercing experience.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Superdrug to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Superdrug have excellent and well trained staff, they have a helpful and polite team who will do everything to help as best they can! Superdrug have cheap drugstore products with a vast range of them all throughout store! Having own brand products which are cheaper than the popular brands but with the same effects and ingredients, making it far cheaper with good quality products regardless!
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Superdrug?
Remaining confident in yourself, not stressing over little things and never being afraid to ask for help! Understanding the main priority is the satisfaction of customers and making sure they are always satisfied as they leave the store and that they would definitely recommend your store to others, making sure you help your team members and that you are always ready!
