Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am electrical engineer who helps develop the electrical power steering and the tire pressure monitoring system. This is for all current and new/prototype cars.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy the programme a lot. The work side is interesting and engaging. While the university side is good to widen my knowledge, it still has problems that need smoothing out.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I have learned how to communicate to a team and how to act more professional in the workplace. It has overall improved my confidence and knowledge that I did not have prior.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The work side is balance well at JLR, however the the university of Warwick could provide better structure and communication.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
There is lots of support available from JLR ranging from help in the work place, academically, and any wellbeing trouble you may also be having.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Overall it is good but there are some modules and module owners/lecturers that let the course down.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
So far in year 2 it has not helped much other than a few helpful pieces of knowledge. However, in the final years the university courses will better stimulate my role at work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, there are lots of social events outside of work time that are arranged by a team of employees.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend JLR to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a nice place to work with friendly colleagues and a healthy salary.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JLR?
Be confident in your interviews and do not be afraid to make yourself stand out. It is important to also show that you work well with others, not just yourself.
