After I was thoroughly integrated within my team, I was given more independence and individual projects as the placement progressed.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have developed my clinical expertise having worked with lead clinical researchers within the team. My analytical skills have improved due to daily data review for the study and through collaborating with other senior members of the team and taking on my individual projects, my interpersonal skills have been enhanced.

Everyone is extremely supportive and happy to help, particularly in the first few months. There has never been a time when I felt I could not ask for assistance.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture was great. There are a number of projects to get involved with aside from your daily work, such as diversity initiatives and volunteering opportunities. There are also workshops that aim to enhance your interpersonal skills which I have found very beneficial. These are open to all colleague and is something that I wasn't expecting from my placement.

I have really enjoyed my placement at this top employer. It has provided me with so many valuable skills and experiences that I guarantee will help me as I apply for jobs after University.
