Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role can vary day to day, my main role is to help maintain our remote connections to devices we service throughout the country. I also have to travel to customer sites throughout the country to install or upgrade servers/ PCs
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have enjoyed my programme from a work aspect as it has allowed for me to continue my learning while also being hands on with equipment.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt various new skills regarding the installation of hardware components such as upgrading components within legacy hardware i.e HDD to SSD and installing new servers. I have also continued to develop existing skills such as communication with customers.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

At the start of my programme the structure could have been better, however beginning the apprenticeship during Covid likely made this more challenging. As the apprenticeship has continued the programme has became more organised.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer is always available to support with any questions I may have or any issues I might be having. They will always respond as soon as possible and I have multiple people within the organization who I can contact for support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Throughout my apprenticeship support from the training provider has been difficult, as there was lots of change within the training providers staff/ organisation. Which led to me not always knowing who to contact with issues and also led to there not being the best support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

There were aspects of my qualification which have helped within my role such as understanding of computer hardware. However majority of my learning has came from the role itself and not the training provider.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

At work there are multiple extra-curricular activities you can be involved in such as apprenticeship forums with the other apprentices at work. Also team forums to meet up with colleagues in the team you work with on a day to day basis.

Why?
Working at Siemens Healthineers has helped me develop new skills while also developing existing skills. Everyone also does not treat you any different just because you are an apprentice, you are given respect by all of your colleagues and they will also always be available for support.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens Healthineers?
I would advice to read up on the company online before applying just to make sure the job is something you would be interested in. If it is I would say to definitely apply, as it has been very useful in developing my skills and knowledge.
