Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My day-to-day role involves developing (coding) software solutions for testing products on the Manufacturing line. Alongside this, I support colleagues in code reviews, writing and reviewing release documentation etc.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have thoroughly enjoyed the programme. Being able to learn something new everyday, work with highly experienced Engineers and make a real difference to MBDA.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

During my time on the apprenticeship, I have learnt a staggering amount of skills. For example -
- Programming (C, C++, C#, LabVIEW, Java etc).
- Problem Solving
- Communications
- Time Management
= Planning

The programme is organised and structured really well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive endless support from MBDA whether that is support with my studies at University or in work. For example -
- MBDA provides a budget for apprentices to buy books for studying, online courses (Udemy Business).
- MBDA provides apprentices with 5-day study leave on-top of annual leave. This is a great incentive because it allows me to study for upcoming exams and/or assignments at University without having to take annual leave.
- MBDA offers various sessions on Mental Health and Wellbeing.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to MBDA?
I would suggest doing research on MBDA to learn about what they do and their company values and consider how you align with them as this will be important for the interview process.
