Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role involves lots of communication with different business stakeholders, like other employees and suppliers, to understand different requirements for business cases and needs. Additionally, I contribute to the outreach programme where we visit schools and advertise our programmes.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Very much!! Everyday is different and I learn a lot :)

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt a lot of communication skills, e.g. gathering requirements, understanding roles and processes, and requesting information from others. Additionally, I have gained a lot of confidence when talking to others as well as in my own abilities.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The IM Degree Apprenticeship is very well structured as our placements for the first year are planned out and decided at the very beginning. This meant that we always knew what was going on and knew where to go if we needed anything.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
If we ever need anything, there is always people around who will be able to help and support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
So far our experience with our training provider has been quite good. We have learnt a lot of softer skills, like presentation making and delivery, and public speaking. If we need support from the lecturers or our coaches, they are always at the other end of a message.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
The soft skills we have learnt from our training provider has helped me become more confident in the work place in terms of communication and confidence.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I am currently part of the Women in Tech initiative where we are talking steps to increase the intake of women to our company. Additionally, we have an Outreach programme where we can promote our programmes to schools and universities
