Diversity & Inclusion Undergrad Review

Attending conferences & webinars and networking with D&I professionals inspires new ideas on best practice which we can implement at Pfizer. I the develop and lead new projects based on best practice cases or just my new, creative ideas. Projects come in different forms and it could be developing training resources, collating existing resources into accessible PDFs or facilitating workshops to give colleagues the skills they need to excel in their careers.

You are given lots of responsibility from the day you join - you really are treated as a Pfizer Colleague rather than 'the Intern' and because of this you are expected to preform and meet your deliverables on time. My projects are lead solely by me and whilst my manager provides feedback and approval at key stages, she doesn't really get involved unless I need support - the success is driven by me.

You get given lots of responsibility in this role and quickly learn skills associated with project management. Not only do you learn how to lead projects but you also learn how to effectively engage and communicate with all stakeholders involved. We use a test learn and adapt approach so ideas don't always work so you really develop strong resilience skills. You always have lots of plates spinning so good organisation is key!

Support is always available - Pfizer has a great culture whereby I feel comfortable approaching anyone for help/support and regardless of title they will be willing to help. I am encouraged to take smart risks and push myself out of my comfort zone but I know that should I need any support I can always go to my Manager for help.

The culture is so supportive - all colleagues are really friendly and open to spending some time talking about their career journey and providing advice. It's somewhere where although we all have titles, we are encouraged to work equally (you aren't treated as just 'the Intern). If I need support or involvement from senior leaders I am encouraged to approach them directly rather than going through the chain of command.

Loved the placement - there are so many opportunities to learn and grow both personally and professionally. I really enjoyed that I have been give so much responsibility and that my ideas have been seriously considered. I still think its pretty cool that the projects I have worked on are going to have a lasting impact on the closure of the Gender Pay Gap - even once I leave.

Yes
