Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am responsible for supporting various strategic cross-functional initiatives focusing on client, commercial, operational and regulatory needs across the Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. My day to day activities are truly very varied however this mainly consists of distilling complex information into simple presentations for a senior audience and other project management activities.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
The programme is very enjoyable, mainly because I am surrounded by such a great support network around me in both the team that I work with but also my broader apprentice cohort. So YES i do enjoy my apprenticeship programme.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have increased my communication skills as well as my commercial awareness. Communication in all its forms whether verbal, written or virtual has been an important and transferable skill which I am still developing now. Additionally I am also learning project management skills which involve a variety of soft and technical skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is the first time that BlackRock are running an apprenticeship programme so with that in mind it is well structured but also allows for flexibility when deciding on study times which I think is great that the program is able to be slightly adapted to suit the needs of different individuals.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
At the beginning we have an induction phase which is great because we spend time learning and also get to meet with our apprentice representative in HR early careers who is super lovely and there for support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
From BPP we have a designated coach who is able to help answer any questions we have and we also have regular meetings and progress reviews with her as well.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It is quite complementary as it covers a broad range of topics which I find particularly useful.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are networks and mentorship opportunities which I like to get involved in as it provides a great way to expand my network and grow.
