Overall Rating

4.4 /5

The Overall Rating is the average of all the ratings given in each category. We take those individual ratings and combine them into one final score!

4/5 - Overview of Role
5/5 - Skills Development
4/5 - Structure and Support

Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Use tools such as Jira to support daily maintenance work regarding our automation flows and servers, alongside using these resources to support new work and projects
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy all aspects of the program

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, both soft and technical skills, soft skills mainly focusing on presentation, communication and time management. My technical skills develop through both my role and degree, degree-based ones being more generic such as C# and prototyping. My role-based skills predominantly focus on using Linux commands, shell scripting and opportunities for the development of new, cutting-edge technology, including Generative AI.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Pretty well structured, where there have been changes and confusion, we've been able to feed these back and they get resolved relatively quickly.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Lots of support, in different forms including professional development, wellbeing and opportunities for personal growth through mentors and managers working closely with us.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
A decent amount of support, including the basics of lectures and tutorials, plus drop-in sessions and actively checked forms of communication.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Given that my role is a bit more specialist, there are concepts and skills that are transferable, but not as many as potentially others in different roles experience, about 40% of my learning helps me better perform at work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, a huge range including book clubs, weekly sports events, office days with socials geared towards the apprentice and graduate community, social events such as Christmas parties, the Race and Equality network sessions and events.etc

Why?
A generally fantastic experience overall- you develop both personally and professional in a safe environment with plenty of support and opportunity to thrive. You truly 'get what you give' and will receive what you ask for.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?
- Be yourself! Authenticity is recognised and allows you to be your true self and feel much more comfortable when working through the process
